Apartma Hiška Na Griču

The House on the Hill is located in Idrijske Krnice, a picturesque village in the northern Primorska Region at approximately 1000 m above sea level. The village lies in the vicinity of the old miners’ town Idrija with a rich Unesco-protected cultural heritage (approximately 12 km away) and is surrounded by peaceful and beautiful nature. The architectural design of the holiday house resembles a traditional hayrack and the interior incorporates the surrounding nature. With respect to the pristine nature, local people let these natural materials develop and then skilfully used them to form unique hand-made furniture. The surrounding spruce trees were used for the wooden floor and the walnut tree, grown in the nearby Kanomlja Valley, for the authentic door handles. The floor in the ground floor of the apartment is also unique, as it is made out of repurposed bricks dating back to 1879. On closer look, many other tiny details can be seen which bring nature into this cosy living space and at the same time make it feel inviting and warm.
