Built in 1929 as a grand summerhouse for General Timmerman by architect Vaerwyck, inspired by the famous English architect Lutyens.

Het Zonnehuis has been completely restored and redecorated by Bertrand Depry and Jan Vermast.

The house is now an exclusive Bed & Breakfast and regained its former grandeur. Het Zonnehuis has 4 luxury rooms, a Junior suite and a holiday house for 4 persons.

The large breakfast has also a British touch: English marmalades, English cheese, smoked salmon, eggs are made à la minute, Brussels waffles, fresh juice, yoghurt, granola and fresh fruit salad. Bread is coming from the bakery in the village. Breakfast is served between 8.30 and 11 a.m. at the big table, the small table or at the heated terrace.

The hotel is located in Sint-Joris, a rural district of Nieuwpoort where peace, tranquility and relaxation are guaranteed. In the morning you can enjoy an excellent and sumptuous breakfast buffet. When the weather is good, you have the opportunity to relax with a drink or a snack on the garden terrace. Cyclists are well catered here by the rural location for there is a wide choice of routes.
